For the past 3 weeks or so, I’ve developed a new routine in my schedule which has already proven to be one of the best things I’ve ever done for my business in terms of getting more work done.
And when I can produce more copy – I make more money.
I’ll be honest, I’ve heard people talk about it before but I could never really get myself to actually try it out and see if it actually worked for me.
So if your read this post and don’t think you can do it…trust me…you NEED to try it out for a week or so and see how it goes for you. It’s probably not for everybody because everybody is different, but do yourself the favor and try it out anyway.
So What Is My Brand-Spankin New “Secret” Productivity Booster?
Getting up at 5:30 a.m. every morning.
I know…revolutionary isn’t it?
There’s just something about getting up early and getting straight to work. Nobody else is usually up at that time so no distractions, your mind is the most fresh and creative, and you’re wide awake (after a cup of coffee of course) so you can focus fully on getting the work done.
And the best part is…if simply sit down and WRITE for a few hours (no email or any other distractions)…you’ll get more done by 8 or 9 a.m. than most people do in the entire day!
For example..the other day I got up at 5:30. I set my coffee pot that night before to start dripping at 5:29 so that by the time I woke up, turned my computer on in my office and went back out into the kitchen…it was done and I could just add the milk and walk right back to the office.
And by 7:52 a.m….I had an ENTIRE salesletter written. Start to finish, everything included.
Instead of sitting around all day trying to think of what to write and going crazy like most copywriters do, I simply poured it all out without any regard as to what was coming out or how it sounded or anything else.
The funny thing is…most people think it takes days to write a salesletter.
And for me, it used to.
But when I started learning to simply sit down and write the entire thing out in 1 sitting, in the morning before everybody else was up, it now only takes me 2-4 hours total.
So the next time you set your alarm…set it VERY early.
You might not want to set it for 5:30 if you’re getting up at 8, 9 or even 10 now…but maybe every 3 days, notch it down another 30 minutes or so.
That’s what I did and within 2 weeks I went from waking up at 8 and getting only a salesletter written the entire day…to getting up at 5:30 and strictly writing until 8 – usually getting the entire salesletter written before my wife wakes up 🙂
