Copywriting Research Tips From Ben Settle

Doing research is one of the most important aspects of copywriting out there, yet hardly anyone puts in enough time to truly do it right.

In fact, I’d estimate that easily 80% of copywriters out there don’t spend enough time doing copywriting research on a project before they start writing the actual copy.

And that’s why most copywriters can’t write successful ads!

When you do research before writing the copy, you get the chance to really dive into your prospects mind and FEEL what it’s like to be them. You get to see what they see, hear what they hear, know what they know, and act like they act.

And being able to do all these things is absolutely critical for writing persuasive, hard-hitting copy that reels your prospects in and makes the sale.

And lucky for you, a few months ago I had the opportunity to get Ben Settle on the phone and interrogate him on exactly how he does his copywriting research before starting a project.

Ben is an incredibly successful copywriter (I recently swiped a sales letter from him during a project I was doing) and a HUGE advocate of doing the proper research before starting the writing aspect of a copywriting project.

It was a priviledge being able to get him on the phone and even though this interview is only about 20 minutes long, it’s absolutely PACKED with take-home tips you can use on your next project.

Enjoy, and let me know what you think!
