The True Cost Of Entrepreneurial Procrastination

Hope you had a fantastic weekend. My wife and I were able to get a date DAY on Saturday for the entire day to watch a few football games (and meet a few pretty interesting characters at the bars).

Then yesterday we took the kids to a local pumpkin patch for some apple cider donuts, a tractor ride to the pumpkin patch, and of course some pumpkins. Connor, of course, thought it would be more fun to throw them off the tractor and watch them smash, then keep them.

(Don’t tell my wife, but I did too ๐Ÿ™‚

I had to jump off and grab a new one.

Now it’s 6:30 a.m. Monday morning… and I’m ready to jump into some math to show you how costly it is to procrastinate your decisions.

This is something I come across A LOT, and I always feel bad because I can’t stand thinking about how much revenue the person is losing by not taking action.

Let’s assume you’re doing $5M per year. And let’s assume you’re thinking of getting a sales funnel created (or an existing one revamped) and you think it might increase overall revenues by 33% or so.

On the surface, by procrastinating you’re losing…

  • $1,650,000 per year…
  • $137,500 per month…
  • $34,375 per week…
  • $4,583 every single day.

Yikes…

(It also means you can plow $35k into a properly built sales funnel and get your money back in a single week)

But wait, we’re not done ๐Ÿ˜‰

Notice above I said “on the surface”. That’s because looking at it from a revenue standpoint alone doesn’t give you the real picture.

You also have to factor in…

  • Reduced employee manpower once you automate key tasks…
  • Increased salesman productivity by closing sales faster…
  • YOUR time, if you’re currently a salesman or do anything you can automate…
  • Increased market share as a result of better advertising…
  • Much faster future launches if you’re smart and duplicate your marketing systems for other verticals…
  • Increased ROI on every marketing campaign you do…
  • Higher average order values (if you implement a “Jeremy Reeves” funnel…)
  • The compounding effects of ALL of this combined and compounded…

I can go on for pages… but I’ll stop there.

I’m sure you get the point.

Procrastination should be wiped clean from the mind of every entrepreneur. It’s a nasty little bugger. And keep in mind, this all applies to other areas of your life as well.

  • Your relationships (i.e. procrastinating on doing something your wife asked, and suffering the consequences)…
  • Your health (i.e. procrastinating on eating healthy, and getting less and less healthy each year)…
  • Your happiness (i.e. not taking the time to take care of your mind, and suffering from burnout, brain fog and general anxiety/unhappiness, etc.

Think about this today.

What Areas Of Your Life Is Procrastination Taking Hold?

Start with business. That’s easy. If there’s something you’re delaying, get the damn thing started already because it’s hurting your business. Then move onto the 2nd area. Fix something there. Then the 3rd. Keep going down the line, knocking off one item at a time until you’re done.

Write it all down on a piece of paper. It’s a great way to do this exercise.

Then let me know how it feels ๐Ÿ˜‰

If by chance you’re procrastinating on anything that has to do with me (i.e. investing in one of my products, getting more info about a Funnel Day, getting a funnel created, etc.) just let me know.

Be extraordinary,
