Happy 4th Of July!

Today is the 4th of July in the United States. In other words, it’s our Independence Day.

Every time we have a major holiday, it pulls me back and makes me reflect on my life. I really don’t know why.

Here’s what I noticed this morning.

I had plans to work as much as possible today. “OMG, I’m going to get behind on my work!” I’ve been telling myself the past few days.

So I must scramble, get up early and get stressed out so that doesn’t happen.

OR, I can get a few quick things done, send you a nice email to tell you to enjoy your day, and relax for the morning with my family until all the festivities start.

I think I’ll choose option #2.

Most people get too crazy about business. Yes, I realize that as a business owner you must work 10x harder than an employee because you create your own economy.

But your brain can’t run sprints all the time.

You have to give it room to relax… to breathe… to RELAX.

YOUR BUSINESS WILL STILL BE HERE TOMORROW

That’s why instead of stressing myself out today and trying to cram in as much work as possible before 11 a.m. when we leave for our 1st (of 4) party, I’m going to go for a nice relaxing walk with my wife and 2 little boys.

I’m also going to put in a double workout, since I’ll be eating like a pig today. I’ve lost 27 pounds since January, and have only 2 more to hit my original
goal ๐Ÿ™‚

So today, on Independence Day, do something different and celebrate YOUR independence that you’ve created for yourself by becoming personally responsible for your own life by becoming an entrepreneur.

Take the time to enjoy life. Far too many entrepreneurs build businesses to get away from the daily grind, and then end up building a business that has them more shackled in chains than a
job would!

Go for a nice long walk. Go hiking. Spend some time with your children, wife, girlfriend, parents, etc.

Play a video game. Watch a movie. Sit in your backyard and just look up at the sky and become present in the moment.

Whatever floats your boat and makes you happy, do it.

And then eat your brains out ๐Ÿ˜‰

I hope you have an absolutely fantastic day. After my very intense workout, I”ll be headed to our friends party. Then coming home and going to our neighbors party. Then another friends. Then my in-laws (who I actually love!).

(The kids are going to their grandma’s for nap time so my wife and I can finally get a little time to enjoy ourselves)

Just don’t get shot in the butt with any bottle rockets.

It stings.
